As we have come to expect, the NDIS has had its second pricing change in the 2023 – 2024 financial year, focusing on simplifying the way Providers bill for Workshops and Group activities. In 2023, the total rate a provider could charge for group workshops was different depending on the number of participants joining the workshops.
With the start of 2024, the price for support during workshops or group activities became much simpler. The maximum rate is now the same as the Core budget’s “Access Community Social and Recreational Activities” price rates, divided by the number of participants in the workshop. Let’s see this in an example below:
If Timmy is joining a cooking workshop on Wednesday afternoon, the price cap for Community supports would be $65.47/hour. If Timmy joins the class with his friend Sarah, then the maximum rate for support would be $65.47 divided by 2 = $32.735 each participant.
Simply divide the Core price caps by the number of participants, and you know the max rate for group based activities!
