FAQ's

STA is NDIS funding from the core budget that can be used for respite for primary carers, or to try living independently as a Participant. STA covers all of the costs associated with the participant’s respite, including the accommodation, transport, activities, food and care services provided.
STA is quoted as a daily cost, and covers all food, accommodation, care services, activities and transport.
While most things are covered under STA funding, if participants want to go shopping for private items, like a new pair of sunglasses, this should be covered privately by the participant
Before any respite experience, we introduce you to the primary helper that will be accompanying you on your respite journey. We recommend having a few shorter community support work shifts together before doing a whole weekend of respite, to ensure everyone is familiar with each other and their needs.
All Helpers hold NDIS worker screening clearances, working with children checks, have insurance and first aid training. Beyond that, each helper may have a different degree or certificate related to disability. We have helpers who are qualified Social workers, Psychologists, Teachers and disability majors.
